Chronic Pain is defined as pain lasting longer than 3 months. You can have pain all of the time, or your pain may come and go. Chronic pain affects 1/10 Canadians which is over 1.5 million people. This is a big deal.
The conventional medical system is not very well equipped to treat chronic pain. The only real tools in the tool box are to mask symptoms using pain killers and to recommend rest. Basic over-the-counter (OTC) medications like acetaminophen and ibuprofen are commonly prescribed and overused. These types of medications are not without side effects and they lose their effectiveness over time.
When OTC medications stop being effective, the solution is to prescribe stronger medications. Unfortunately, there is an epidemic of drug abuse and addiction (opioid crisis).
Rest is also not an option for many people. People who rely on their body to be able to work, to be able to keep up with their kids, to travel or to knock items off of their bucket list.
This system is flawed, and completely overlooks the fact that the body, given the right circumstances, has the ability to heal itself. The focus should be on restoring function, not masking symptoms. I can teach you how. When working with patients in chronic pain, people like you, I follow a 3 Phase Program to Conquering Chronic Pain. This program achieves consistent, effective, and predictable results. Pain is a symptom of an underlying dysfunction. In order to gain long lasting result, you have to look past the pain and fix what is causing the pain in the first place.
Most chronic pain has an inflammatory component. Inflammation can either be the cause of your pain or it can be making your pain worse. Although inflammation is part of a normal healing response and is actually adaptive, chronic inflammation left unchecked can deplete you, can damage tissues and can increase the frequency and severity of your pain.
Restore is about reducing inflammation through food, movement, sleep, hydration and stress management. All of these are covered in my Guide to Revitalize Your Lifestyle: 7 Simple Steps to Conquer Your Chronic Pain and get Back on Track. This is a free downloadable resource for YOU. Get your copy here.
Optimize is all about YOU and your ability to stimulate a healing response. How well you heal depends on a number of factors including inflammation, nutrient status, hormone levels and sleep.
This phase involves in-depth one-on-one assessments as well as indicated laboratory testing in order to identify inflammatory markers, nutrient deficiencies and hormone imbalances.
Why guess when you can measure and fast track your results? Take your health to the next level with a strategic, individualized nutrition and supplement program to conquer your chronic pain.

Regenerative medicine is most effective for healthy and active individuals. By completing the first 2 phases of the program prior to treatment, you are more likely to have a positive response to injection therapies such as prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma (PRP).
Both of these therapies work by triggering a healing response which results in stronger and healthier connective tissue (such as cartilage, tendons and ligaments). This improves stability, improves function and decreases pain.

Note: PRP procedures are done in Fernie, BC and are not currently offered in Calgary, AB.
